The Sweet Deal for C.A.R. Fundraiser

The sweet deal for C.A.R fundraiser is back!

During worship, your congregation may distribute a tube of M&Ms to each family to enjoy, inviting them to return the tube with a check inside made out to the church, or some bills or quarters as they are inspired to give. If you have plenty of tubes, it may also be a fun Sunday School project.

You may want to set a financial goal such as a computer for a new lab, a Display with details, perhaps a Map showing where C.A.R. is found in Africa, and attach a Label to each tube as a reminder.  This year's label includes a QR code linking directly to our new Facebook page, the "CAR Companion Synods."  Follow to see pictures, newsletters, and interesting updates.  A Bulletin Insert may also be helpful for providing details.  All of these samples can be modified with congregation names, goal specifics, and dates.

Contact Matthew to reserve your M&M tubes, for more details, or to brainstorm. Thanks in part to grants from the Women of First Lutheran in Minot, and the endowment of St. John in Dickinson, an initial quantity of tubes are available at the synod office.

GIVING GOAL – A School Computer

Central African Republic Fundraiser

Education has been an emphasis for some time in CAR, where kids often do not have access to school, or students walk great distances. After building many elementary schools, and now the first Lutheran high school celebrated just this February, we aspire to provide better tools for those who have had access to some education.

We often take laptops and tablets for granted, even having personal devices at home and at school. Technical education is a wonderful tool to educate and equip, reducing poverty. What if we as a synod could raise enough for a whole computer lab in our brand new school in CAR!
